Direct Entry Requirement for Political Science

  • Two (2) A’ level passes to include Government or History.

AUE accepts “A” level results, NCEs in Economics or Business Management and one (1) additional subject, ND upper credit in Business Administration, as well as UTME qualifications.

UTME Requirement for Political Science

  • English Language, Government/History, and any other three (3) courses from the Arts or Social Sciences, along with a minimum “O” level pass in Mathematics, must be completed in order to receive five (5) SSC credits.

Requirements To Study Political Science In Nigeria

  • If you want to study political science in Nigeria, you must have at least three passes on your O’level exam (WAEC, NABTEB, or NECO), which must have been taken in not more than two (2) sittings and including English and mathematics. Some schools require a single sitting.

Direct Entry Requirements To Study Political Science In Nigeria

  • A maximum of two (2) sittings for a minimum of five (5) credits in the Ordinary Level of the Senior Secondary Certificate Exams (SSCE/GCE).
  • Degree in a comparable discipline with a First Class or Second Class Higher.
  • The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and your school are where you must purchase the Direct Entry form if you are a Direct Entry applicant.
  • An Advanced Level Certificate with the least Merit Pass in the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), or any applicable Advanced Level Certificate.
  • Any additional qualifications that are equivalent to (1) and (4) above and are accepted to the Senate of the university of your choosing. Candidates must meet such Faculty/Departmental entry requirements in addition to the aforementioned minimum admission requirements.

Political Science students who choose the incorrect course combination are NOT prohibited from taking the pre-admission screening test. Such a candidate won’t, however, be taken into consideration for admission unless they decide to change their programme of study or their institution.
