The prerequisites for each postgraduate course offered by UNIABUJA are listed below; these requirements must be strictly followed during the postgraduate application and registration processes, and failure to do so could result in the rejection of your application.
The PGD (Postgraduate Diploma) programs, all academic and non-academic Masters programs, and Ph.D. programs for new candidates all have the general entry requirements listed below.
1. Candidates for postgraduate study at the University of Abuja must have earned at least five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics, in no more than two sittings of the WASC NECO GCE (Ordinary Level) or its equivalent.
2. Candidates applying for the M.A., M.Ed., M. Eng., MVPH, MVPM and M.Sc. degrees in any field must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree with at least second class lower division in the relevant discipline.
3. A Candidate for a Ph.D. in any Programme of the University of Abuja must have obtained a minimum weighted average score of 60% (4 points) letter grade “B” average performance in the Master’s Degree
4. When applying for admission, a candidate holding a master’s degree from another university who did not previously complete the required courses or courses with similar content to those offered at the University of Abuja must offer and pass those courses with a minimum grade of “B” or 60% (4 points).
5. Candidates seeking admission into any of the postgraduate Diploma Programmes must possess a university degree with a minimum grade of third class or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit.
6. MBBS, BDS is required for MPH Community Medicine while health related degree is required for MPH Sexual and Reproductive Health
NOTE: Ph.D., candidates should attach a maximum of 500 words of research proposal
