The management of the University of Lagos through the Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) wishes to announce to the general public that the admission procedure for the Proficiency Certificate in European Languages program has commenced.
Interested persons are advised to check the eligibility requirements, confirm if they are eligible, and apply for admission into this program.
The proficiency program is designed as a full-time course. This program affords students the opportunity to advance their knowledge of European languages such as French, Spanish, German, and Russian.
Not only will students gain proficiency in the afore-listed languages, but they will also be afforded the opportunity to progress into the university’s foundation program. The foundation program offers the student a chance to progress to 200 level in any department pertaining to the four languages studied.

UNILAG Proficiency Certificate in European Languages Admission 2024: Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into this program, candidates are required to have the following qualifications:
- Candidates must have O’Level credits in Mathematics, English Language, two Arts subjects, and one other subject making it five credits in total. (All these must be obtained in not more than two sittings.)
Note: The Proficiency Certificate in European Languages program covers a full academic session. The 2024/2025 session will commence on the 16th of October, 2024, and conclude on the 31st of July, 2024.
How to Apply For UNILAG Proficiency Certificate in European Languages Admission Form 2024
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000)
- Visit the HRDC Portal at http://hrdc.unilag.edu.ng
- Select the “Prospective Students” option.
- Start the application process by providing the required details.
- Proceed to Payment then click on ‘Continue’
- Print out the payment invoice, and pay a fee of N15,000 at any bank.
Screening Examination Details
Candidates should note that the screening examination in English Language and Mathematics will be conducted and all applicants are required to take the exam. The examination will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2024, in Room 402 B, Faculty of Arts Building, University of Lagos, Akoka. The results of this examination will be announced on Wednesday, October 11, 2024.
