Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Form 2024

This message is intended to inform all residents of Lagos State who are enrolled in postsecondary institutions across the nation that the application process for the State’s 2024 Postgraduate Local Scholarship Award is now open.

We are utilizing this means to let all students and residents of Lagos State who are enrolled in tertiary institutions nationwide and who hope to get a postgraduate scholarship award know that the sale of forms has started.

The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board wishes to inform indigenous students of Lagos State who are enrolled in postsecondary institutions across the nation and who intend to receive a bursary or scholarship award that application forms for both awards for the academic year 2022/2024 will be available starting on Thursday, June 1, 2024, and must be submitted by midnight on Friday, June 30, 2024.

The registration portal will open at 12 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2024, and close at 12 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2024. As a result, it is advised for those who plan to be beneficiaries to make sure they acquire and complete their forms online on or before the closing date.

Lagos State Scholarship Board

The Lagos State Scholarship Board was created in February 1968 as a department of the State Government. The Board’s purpose focuses on providing children with high-quality instruction as well as support for secondary and higher education.

Offered Bursary/Scholarship Awards include:

  •  Lagos State Bursary
  •  Maritime Academy / Law School Bursary
  •  Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
  •  Scholarship for Masters Students
  •  Scholarship for Ph.D. Students

Requirement Criteria for Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship Program

1. All applicants must have been accepted on a full-time basis for postgraduate studies (Master’s or Doctorate) at a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution.

2. All postgraduate candidates (applied only to candidates for the master’s degree)

  • Where the CGPA scale is 7.0 (such as at the University of Ibadan), the applicant must have earned a minimum undergraduate GPA of 4.9/7.0.
  • Where the CGPA scale is 5.0 (such as at the University of Lagos), the applicant must have received a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5/5.0.

3. Each applicant must be at least in their first year.

4. Every applicant must have successfully registered with LASRRA.

5. Each applicant must have an identification letter from their respective Oba that has been signed.

6. Each applicant needs to obtain a letter of identity from their local government, signed.

7. A Scholarship application form must be purchased by each candidate. Through the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship).

8. Candidates who have been shortlisted must take a computer-based test that will be administered by Dragnet Solutions Limited and the Lagos State Scholarship Board.

9. Candidates who are selected for an oral interview will be notified.

Required Documents for Lagos Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

  • Admission Letter
  • Valid ID Card
  • Letter of identification from Oba
  • Letter of identification from Local Government
  • SSCE result
  • Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASSRA) registration card
  • Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).
  • Certificate or Result statement from school stating graduating results clearly
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
  • Masters’s Degree Certificate (Ph.D. applicants only)
  • Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation Slip.

Application Procedure for Lagos PG Scholarship Scheme

1. Before beginning this application, make sure you have purchased a scholarship application form (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) at the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board. Next, get your voucher pin from the Scholarship Board office. After that, make sure the following documents are clearly scanned.

  • Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
  • Treasury receipt of N2,000 for the scholarship form
  • Admission Letter
  • Valid Identity Card
  • SSCE certificate
  • Letter of identification from Oba
  • Letter of identification from Local Government
  • LASSRA Registration card
  • Certificate or Result statement from school stating graduating results clearly
  • Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation

2. To prevent confusion following the application, be sure to fill out the information completely.
3. To prevent document mixing up during upload, make sure the papers are named in accordance with what they represent.
4. When requested to upload something, make sure you attach the correct documents.

To apply for Lagos Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme, follow the steps below:

1. Visit Scholatisca.com  Select “Apply Now” from the menu.

2. The “Register Now” button can be used to register.

3. For account activation, go to your email box.

4. For a link back to the scholarship website, select www.scholastica.ng/schemes/lssbpostgraduate.

5. Upload your data by entering your registered email address and password.

6. Enter the necessary personal, extra, academic, and other information about yourself, as well as any relevant scanned documents.

7. Verify that the names used in applications correspond to the names on the documents in the same order. In the absence of that, upload a sworn affidavit or certificate.

8. For the purpose of preventing upload mistakes, make sure you review every document after uploading.

9. If you are prompted to upload a photo, choose a passport photo with a white background.

10. To prevent mistakes, double-check the application’s data.

11. Enter the secret voucher pin and LASSRA Number in the relevant columns after clicking “Apply Now” to submit your information.

12. A confirmation that your application was accepted will be sent to you through email and SMS.

Note: Candidates who have been shortlisted will receive invitations via email and SMS text messages to take the qualifying test. All candidates are consequently urged to make sure that their personal email addresses and legitimate GSM phone numbers are correctly entered into the portal’s e-forms. The Scholarship board will penalize you for submitting multiple applications.
