The NDA Postgraduate School is acclaimed for its distinctiveness, caliber, and discipline on a global scale. The Postgraduate School of the Nigerian Defence Academy has a long list of accomplishments.

The School has offered higher degrees and higher education in fields that are not commonly found in ordinary universities, which has been a tremendous help to the Armed Forces, who make up its catchment area, sphere of influence, and coverage.

NDA Postgraduate School – Programmes Admission Requirements.

The requirements for the various programmes are as follows:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree: A candidate for a PhD degree must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited university in the proposed subject of study and a minimum of Second Class Honours (Lower Division) a Bachelor’s degree. The applicant must also have earned a Masters-level average of at least 3.50% (60%) in order to be considered.
  • Masters (MA, M.Eng and M.Sc) Degrees: Candidates for the Master’s Degree program must be Nigerian Defence Academy graduates or have earned a comparable degree from another university that is recognized. A Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in the pertinent subject of study is the minimal requirement for such a candidate.
  • Professional Doctorate programmes: Academic master’s degree in a related field with good performance. Professional Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.50 in a related field. Significant work experience in the public or private sector, along with strong documentation of resource management, corporate strategy, defence, and security, as well as strategic sector governance.
  • Master’s Degree: Candidates applying for the part-time programs must have at least a Bachelor’s degree with Second Class Honours (Lower Division). For consideration for admission, candidates with a Third Class degree or a Higher National Diploma must additionally hold a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field from an institution of higher learning that is recognized. Lower Credit is the minimum requirement for HND candidates.
  • PGD Programmes: Candidates applying for the Postgraduate Diploma program must hold either a Higher National Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Defense Academy or another university that has been granted recognition.
