General Admission Requirements
1. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs must be graduates of Osun State University or any other university, as well as graduates of accredited polytechnics by the Senate.
2. All candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in English and four other relevant subjects obtained in no more than two sittings, except programs in the Faculty of Law, where the entry requirement at the Bachelor’s degree level is a minimum of 5 credit passes in one sitting.
3. Candidates having ‘O’ Level Examination results must bring genuine copies of their certificates for screening since Statements of Results and/or Result Slips are not enough.
Postgraduate Diploma Programme
Candidates seeking admission into the Postgraduate Diploma Programme must possess a minimum of third class in the Bachelor’s degree program or a minimum of Lower credit at the Higher National Diploma (H.N.D.).
Master’s Degree Programme:- Academic and Professional Master’s Degree
Candidates for admission into both academic and professional master’s degree programs must fulfill either of the following requirements.
i. Candidates applying for academic Master’s Degree Programmes must have at least a Second Class (Lower Division) in their Bachelor’s Degree Programs.
ii. Candidates must have a third-class bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma in related programs with a weighted average of at least 60.00 percent.
iii. Candidates with a minimum of lower credit in Higher National Diploma (H.N.D.) and Postgraduate Diploma programs with a weighted average of at least 60.00%.
iv. Candidates with lesser degree classifications may only be considered for the Professional Master’s degree.
Master’s of Philosophy Degree
Candidates for admission must fulfill one or more of the following requirements.
i. Applicants for admission must have a first-degree
ii. Candidate with a master’s degree in the field of study and a weighted average of 50.00 – 54.99%, or equivalent on other conversion scales.
Doctoral Degree Programme(PHD)
Candidates for Ph.D. programs must have a Master’s degree with a minimum weighted average of 60.00% or a CGPA of 3.50.
M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree Programme
Candidates having a minimum weighted average score of 55.00% or a Master’s CGPA of 3.00 may apply for admission to the MPhil/Ph.D. programs.
The program lasts at least one session, following which the applicant can advance to the Ph.D. program.
Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to the Ph.D. program following a conversion examination report issued by a Panel of Examiners after the first registration session.
To be eligible for conversion to the Ph.D. program, a candidate must have an aggregate score of at least 60% after the first session.
