Candidates for the UTME in 2024 must fulfill the following criteria in order to be admitted to the University of Lagos:

  • Candidates must be 16 years of age or older.
  • A minimum of 6 (six) “Cs (Credits)” marks are required on the O’level result(s). This needs to cover three additional subjects pertinent to their course of study in addition to English and math. For example, a candidate who wishes to pursue a career in law must earn a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and English Literature.
  • In the JAMB UTME exam, candidates must receive a minimum score of 160.
  • Candidates need to score exceptionally well on the UNILAG post-UTME screening exam (depending on their field of study).

  • For their particular courses, candidates’ cutoff scores must be met in order to be admitted to the university.

UNILAG Admission Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

The following criteria must be met by applicants seeking direct entry admission to the University of Lagos (UNILAG):

  • Candidates must have at least five (5) credits on their O-level transcript. English and math must be included in this. Two sitting results, however, are not permitted.
  • The age of the applicants must be at least sixteen.
  • The JAMB Directly admission form must be obtained by candidates before applying.
  • The following certificates are required for candidates: IJMB, Cambridge, OND, ND, NCE, Level A, BSc, HND, and ICAN.
