List of Universities in Nigeria that Do not Write Post UTME

Post UTME stands for Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. It is an examination or screening after the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.

Admission into the tertiary institution of your choice depends on your performance in the screening exam or aptitude test.

In recent years, the educational system in Nigeria has experienced a shift in its operations especially when it has to do with the processes of gaining admission into higher institutions.

This shift has made it easier for students who wish to be admitted into school but are afraid of writing any form of exam aside from Jamb to have equal access to be admitted into other reputable universities.

Hence, there is a need to start searching for other reputable universities that accept candidates without  Post UTME.

Other less expensive methods employed by some schools in other to screen students that do not involve writing exams include;

Oral screening

Physical screening and

Online Screening.

Also, these Universities give you access to upload your credentials such as your O’level result (Waec, Neco, or Nabteb Result), birth certificate, Jamb result, and others to the School online portal for verification.

This article will provide you with a comprehensive list of Universities that do not set Post Utm Exam for their Student.

List of Universities in Nigeria That Do Not Write Post UTME

1. Lagos State University (LASU)

Rather than administering post-UTME tests, the university employs a grading system to evaluate prospective students.

In recent years, admission has been determined by factors such as O’level results, UTME scores, the level of competition for the desired program, and, more recently, whether the applicant is a native of Lagos State.

Located in Ojo, Lagos State University (LASU) has sub-campuses in Ikeja and Epe, all in Nigeria.  LASU currently has a student population of over 35,000 and provides diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs, including an MBA program.

2. Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa

In the most recent admissions cycle, Ondo State University of Science and Technology did not perform post-UTMe for her applicants. All you have to do, particularly for the additional entrance forms, is fill out the screening form online and wait to be offered admission.

The university, of course, requires the appropriate O’level subjects/grades in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE along with a score of 180 or more in the UTME.

The better, though, is to have a good JAMB score. Applicants are accepted based on how competitive their respective departments may be.

More competitive courses, including microbiology and biochemistry, are more likely to accept you if you have a higher grade. However, you might not need a grade higher than 180 for Agric and Botany courses.

3. University of Jos (UNIJOS)

Its post-UTME screening is often announced online by this federal institution immediately on the school webpage. Naturally, they do not take entrance examinations.

The sole requirements for candidates are to pay online and then complete the online screening form. Also, the JAMB cut-off scores required to participate in the online screening will be made public.

You have the best chance of being admitted if you meet the cut mark and the O’level requirements for your degree.

The university will then publish a list of the candidates who were accepted. Prior to the end of the admissions year, candidates may receive up to 4 lists.
