Abia State University (ABSU)
Abia State University was established in 1981 in the rural area of Uturu. In 1981, the rural community of Uturu welcomed Abia State University. Due to the creation of Abia State in 1991, Imo State initially had control over the university.
Later, to form Abia State University, the Uturu campus and the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine were combined.

Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU)
